Harrogate Choral Society

We are one of the best choral societies in Yorkshire with approximately 130 members. We are a friendly and welcoming society with members of all ages from 17 to over 80. We are all re-auditioned every three years (which is not as awful as it sounds!) We normally rehearse on Wednesday from 7.30 to 9.30 pm. We also have all rehearsals every now and then on a Saturday morning to help us really get to grips with a new work. Most of these rehearsals are held at Christ Church on the Stray in Harrogate. We normally perform in four concerts per season plus the Harrogate Christmas Concert (the latter with Harrogate Symophony Orchestra. Most of our concerts take place in the Royal Hall Harrogate but we also sing at Ripon Cathedral when a particular work would be more suited to that venue, and at other local venues. The joint annual Family Christmas Concert takes place in the Harrogate Convention Centre. Potential new members are invited to join us any week, except for the last rehearsal before a concert.
