Chapter House Choir, York

Formed in 1965 to raise funds for the York Minster Appeal, the Chapter House Choir has built up a reputation as one of the North of England’s foremost chamber choirs. Under the inspirational directorship of Ben Morris (Assistant Director of Music at York Minster), the choir seeks to perform an eclectic range of beautiful yet challenging programmes from the whole range of the choral repertoire. The choir also performs occasional Evensong and Compline services in York Minster. The Chapter House Youth Choir was established in 2016 and has already performed in some amazing events, including sharing a platform with the King’s Singers, Gesualdo Six, Gabrieli Consort and English Touring Opera, and rehearsing with legendary composer John Rutter. The Chapter House Youth Choir is directed by Charlie Gower-Smith.
