The Academy of St Olave’s is a Chamber Orchestra which may number between 15 and 45 players according to the requirements of the programme. The Academy performs three concerts each year under the direction of Alan George, a founder member of the internationally renowned Fitzwilliam String Quartet, and members also play for one orchestral Mass on Remembrance Sunday. The orchestra’s repertoire ranges from music of the seventeenth century to that of the present day; from Corelli and Purcell through Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven to Stravinsky, Britten and Tavener.
